As we begin to settle back in to doing the things we love, the WTW & Scott Cinema Group has been hard at work making sure our venues are even safer so that you can continue to enjoy new movies with a captivated audience. These procedures have been developed in line with Government guidance. When visiting the cinema, things may work a little differently for now - here's some of the core new policies and procedures you can expect to find when you visit us...

WATCHING A MOVIE

All auditoria are limited to a maximum of 35% of their physical capacity. Only alternate rows of seats are in use and nobody will be sat beside you.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING

While queuing, please keep 1m away from the person in front of you. Please be respectful of other people when walking to or from the toilets as space is very limited in these areas. Please follow staff instructions when leaving the cinema.

BOOKING & PAYMENTS

Advance Booking is strongly advised - the booking fee has temporarily been reduced to allow for this. Some snacks and drinks may not be available. Please try to pay by card or contactless where possible.

HEALTH & HYGIENE

Screens are installed at all service points. Please use the hand sanitiser provided around the building. Staff are regularly disinfecting all contact points in the building and have all the necessary PPE required in order to safely do their jobs.

CANCELLATION INFORMATION

Due to the close down of cinemas and the Royal Opera House on a temporary basis, the remainder of the 2019-20 cinema season has been cancelled. Cinema teams will be in touch to arrange refunds once we are able to access cinemas at the tail end of the country-wide lockdown. Royal Opera House will be back later in the year for the 2020-21 season.

INFORMATION

The Royal Opera House launches its 2019/20 cinema season, broadcasting 13 productions to 1,500 cinemas in 53 countries across the globe.

The new Royal Opera House season will include five new productions, three world premieres and the return of six much-loved heritage productions. Through its live cinema broadcasts, audiences all over the world are never far from a Royal Opera House ballet or opera broadcast live from London’s famous Covent Garden stage. 

The Royal Ballet will feature seven cinema productions including three world premieres–The Dante Project, a full work from choreographer Wayne McGregor, composer Thomas Adès, artist Tacita Dean, Lucy Carterand Uzma Hameedand a new Marston/Scarlett world premiere. 

As well as showcasing its contemporary face, The Royal Ballet draws on its rich cultural heritage in the 2019/20 Season. Repertory classic Coppélia and The Sleeping Beauty will delight audiences, as willLiam Scarlett’scritically acclaimed Swan Lake, which premiered last season. In addition to the live programme, new for 2019/20, cinema audiences can see a recorded showing of The Royal Ballet’s 2016 festive favourite, The Nutcracker in December 2019.

Free Tickets (such as Guest Passes, Admit One vouchers, and Meerkat Movies) cannot be used on Royal Opera House presentations. Daily Telegraph and ClassicFM vouchers are accepted on a per-production basis, when tickets are bought in person at the box office.

CERTIFICATION

Event Cinema presentations are classed as 12A by default, except where noted otherwise. This reflects the fact that the BBFC has not examined content, and therefore we are advised that it cannot be determined whether the material contained within the presentation is suitable for children. The applied 12A certificate means that persons under the age of 12 can only be admitted when accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

In some situations, Event Cinema presentations may have a classification pre-determined by either the venue of origination, or the distributor. These certificates reflect the original ratings applied to the content of any show, for example by the exhibiting theatre. These certificates are clearly displayed next to the presentation title.

Encore performances are always rated by the BBFC. Please note that for 15 & 18 certificate presentations, nobody under that age can be admitted,
